LOBO Gives Sir Cliff A Leg Up In Derby

LOBO Systems, the access system used on work as diverse as the NASA space shuttle, nuclear power stations and stately homes, gave pop icon Sir Cliff Richard a lift when he recently came to Derby.

Welcomed by huge crowds of fans, Sir Cliff visited the ASDA superstore in the city to sign copies of his book My Life, My Way.

Store manager, Steve Ryan, recognised that a stage was needed so that the adoring fans could see Sir Cliff, so he contacted LOBO Systems.

LOBO managing director, Robert Bokros, explained: “We built a LOBO platform that raised Sir Cliff above the crowds. Complete with safety rails, it was the perfect solution for the store- the fans could see him and Sir Cliff was able to sign his books in safety.”

The LOBO System is an innovative work platform that can be configured to meet any access application. It is put together, without any tools and its unique, patented clamp provides a safe and secure working facility up to a maximum of 10 metres- making light work of maintenance at height. Personnel can reconfigure the system, adapting it from one project to another with ease.

By fitting wheels, LOBO can be moved around a site and it can be assembled, taken down and reassembled quickly. It is easy to flat-pack and transport. LOBO’s UK customers cover a range of industries and applications and include the Ministry of Defence, The Home Office, British Energy, The National Trust and Virgin Atlantic.

The equipment is made in the UK and is available in various kit forms or, to meet specific applications, LOBO engineers will design a bespoke system. One of its benefits is that extending kits can be bought to accommodate changing needs.
